Weapons are one of the basic types of equipment needed on every ship. To use a weapon you need the same skill level in weaponry as the tech level of the weapon. Weapons are generally used to blow things up. From the original ion peashooter to the magnificent "Titan" weapons, you can obtain many of them from Space stations. Rare and powerful weapons can be found as certain AI loot, dungeon rewards, ruin extracts, mission prizes or even man-made creations by real players. Although, rumor has it that much better weapons are to be found out in the real world...but those have all come from characters such as Calypso and Bizman...

"Weapons" Stat

Ships have a stat called "weapons." This refers to the maximum number of weapons that can be equipped at one time.

For the less experienced...

Weapons are equipped on your ship at a space station and fired using the space bar as the default key. You can switch between equipped weapons using the default 'e' key.

Remember, you will need an energy bank equipped to fire them, and that energy bank will have to have the necessary amount of power needed to fire. You can check how much energy you have at your disposal underneath the shield bar. Note that some energy units do not have a large enough bank for a certain weapon, but energy bank sizes can be changed with augmenters, capacitors, or even built-in ship effects. Some weapons are only for bases, so they can only be equipped on them.
