First, for your enjoyment, the funniest thing in Star Sonata.......ever. Mom vs SS.jpg

I am yugioh, on The Forgotten Colonies. I am an ex-collector of all things rare and shiny. My current main ship is an Earthforce Dreadnought, and I am a gunner.

I was previously on The Forgotten Colonies, but I was booted for antagonizing Helro in all chat.

I was also on Infinity until recently, but left after the team started to stagnate, with most of the best members going to Core and runs happening sparodically at best.

I am now back on The Forgotten Colonies, after Core refused to let me roll on Emp loot and Llessur allowed me to rejoin.

My alts include yugioh2, yugioh 2, shadow124 and Kealan.

History of yugioh

I, like all others, started as a noob in a zebucart. I started before The Nexus existed, so I had a pretty rough beginning. I worked my way up to a tear, eventually, then I quit for several months. When I came back, after seeing an ad for the game and remembering how fun it was, I got a restless spirit, then a Pax Christmasicus. I filled it with the best gear possible, a combination of rare ruin items and Gigantic items, and used that for several months.

I became P2P, though, and quickly outgrew it. I got a mini mad scientist, and then a zebumaster. I used a combination of arson drones and various weapons to kill Space Blue Betas until I could get a parsley, then became a Multifirer under the old skills. I bought $50 worth of credits from Bizman, who gave me a gift of 1 billion free with my purchase. I used that money to buy gear for the parsley, which I soon upgraded to a Warden. I used up most of the money quickly, so I was poor again soon enough. I used a variety of weapons to kill Space Blue Gamma and MF Slumberchromes in my Warden, such as DWOs, OHLs and BBGs. Back then, however, I did not really believe in Gear Glue, never being able to afford more than 1 or 2 at once, due to losing weapons so often, for not believing in gear glue.....

Anyway, after I became fed up with the expenses of MultiFirer, I became a Sniper under the old skills, buying a Bule Super Sidhe and gearing it with the very last of my money, combined with money from selling the Warden and most of the weapons. I did not have weaponry 20, so I used a delayed blast hunleyite. Although it was difficult to use, being a giant thorax, I became able to kill BGs with it. I was only level 300 around then, and this was my main, so I considered this quite an achievement at the time. I used the ship for only about 50 or 75 levels, quickly becoming annoyed with the difficulty of hitting a target with a thorax when it flies away since it doesn't see you.

I then sold the BSS, bought a porpoise and augs, and began leveling much more easily. I soon came acroos a cheap anniconda scale, and after 4 attempts, I got shielding 20. Minch then sold me an extremely overpriced modded zebra hide. It had +20% bank and he charged 2.5 billion credits for it. It allowed me to tank BGs without them breaking my regen, though, so I was satisfied. I trained off MF slumberchromes, BGs and the occasional juju DG until level 500, where I stayed for quite a while, becoming bored with the game due to my inabity to get a T20 ship, and the dull repitition of leveling.

Then the new skills came out. I wanted to be gunner badly, but did not have enough skill points. I became a speed demon during the temporary universe, leveling very quickly to make Gunner before the real universe came out. Once I was level 625ish, I switched to Gunner, and loved it. I had signifigent problems powering weapons in my 2 ares 1 athena porpoise, of course, with so much RoF.

Then, I was lucky enough to find a ticket to the end-game. I was down in warp 3 rather deep, having put off exploring the new uni for long enough, when I came across Sputty Nutty! I quickly asked (Well, begged) my team to kill him for me, since I had been waiting so long for a T20 ship. They came, with some extra firepower from JAWSS. They managed to kill him rather quickly, and after a small amount of debate with JAWSS, it was agreed that I should get the commod, since I had found him in the first place.

I diligently added Sputter Nutters as often as possible until it was ready. Thanks to the bug involving a Trader mission in Iq' Bana giving far more money than it should, which most of the people capable of getting there used, I was able to afford my augs, 2 superior combineds and a Gunner Mastery. I loved it! I had almost 2,000 hull and went over 150 speed, a huge improvement from my old Porpoise. I was also able to power much better weapons. I still didn't have weaponry 20, so I bought a pair of catapults, which tore through most enemies very quickly.

After this, the missions for skills came out, so I was able to get Weaponry 20 within days of their release by taggging along with Pantalones. I bought pairs of everything I could afford, which meant most entry-level Tech 20 weapons. I had 2 venu mags, 2 venu jacks, 2 venu rays, 2 mad thoraxes and 2 dark fists.

I continued using my Izer until about level 900, when I bought my Earthforce Dreadnought. I had to sell lots of stuff, including stripping my level 500 droner alt, yugioh2, of every piece of gear worth selling, but I finally managed to buy one. It was a good thing I did, too, since it was DIE's last one and i had to leave for a month the next day. When I was back from summer camp, I went on a series of uber runs in my izer, acquiring a few somewhat valuable items to sell. I sold off most of the weapons from my izer, most of my rares and my izer's gigantic fission to afford augs, a PtE and a gunner mastery, as well as 2 capital armageddon laser prototypes.

Recently, I upgraded my capital armageddon laser prototypes to capital armageddon lasers. I also purchased a pair of Zebra Spitters, to re-try my Izer, but quickly became bored with it once again, since it was simply too flimsy to tank, and too heavy to dodge effectively. I sold off the augs and weapons to afford gear my my Speed Demon alt, yugioh2, and the izer is now unused. I am considering someday making it into a speedy delivery ship, though I need money for more important things currently.

History of yugioh2

I started this character while I was still a F2P, planning on making it a droner alt, since they were so strong when killing F2P bases and drones, which was still possible back then. I went P2P and soon forgot about all characters but my main, trying to get one character as strong as possible before working on alts. Once I got my main in his porpoise, I decided to start an alt. I began leveling with drones in a paximinus, with three magic attacks. I quickly upgraded to a Pax Christmascious with arson drones.

At about this time, the new skills came in, so I promptly abandoned this alt to begin training my main some more. Once my main was in his izer, I leveled a bit more and bought a parsley. It was a decent DM ship, although I did not use it for long. I leveled quickly, and soon purchased a Paxian Selenologica for my alt. I originally augged it with an Engineer Prowess, Defensive Prowess and Offensive Prowess, but as soon as I did the Drone Aug nerf was implemented. I re-augged my ship, removing the Defensive Prowess and replacing it with a Poseidon+. I then bought several nice pieces of gear for it, including a Vazaha Haven 9 and a gyroscopic modded giga ion justice.

With this setup, using Titan Drones, I could easily kill multiple Big Greens or Forgones without losing a drone. I usually had to sit on the warp and warp in and out every few seconds to prevent myself from dying, but I only used Gear Glue 10 so if I did it didn't really matter. Once I hit level 500, I wanted a dreadnought for my main, so I sold off all the gear and augs in my Paxian Selenologica.

After I had bought and augged my Dread, I got a vulture for this char, and turned him SD. It was hard at first, since I had neglected core skills such as weaponry to power-level, but I eventually managed it with an Urqa'Ka and handy DG full of Jujus. I quickly leveled weaponry, shielding and equipment, getting a GnT, venu mag and some panther items. However, I have sold the Venu mag and GnT to afford a ZSpitter for my main, so once again this alt was unuseable.

After a while, however, I grew bored with yugioh's Izer, realizing I could do much more with my Dreadnought. So I traded in his 2 ZSpitters for a Mercurian Magcannon, and un-augged the ship to afford a modded GnT and a lot of Gear Glue, since I do not have very high shields in the Vulture. I leveled mainly on Big Greens, Forgones and MF Nephils, along with the occasional Prog Rosie or juju, gaining over 150 levels in a week of sparodic leveling.

However, his Vulture has reached it's limitations, being weakly shielded and with relatively low damage. I have decided to buy him a Death Striker, as well as a great aug combination I thought of that is made entirely for PvE and DGing. I am currently in pursuit of a DC helmet, as I have obtained everything else needed to build it.

History of Kealan

Kealan is my Fleet Commander alt. He was originally going to be a seer, but I decided to make shadow124 my seer, since he already had skills more attuned to it. Anyway, Kealan started in a zebucart, as everyone does. I quickly ubgraded it to a paximinus, and bought some very good noob items for him. I leveled in the Nexus for a bit longer, then left and started killing SBAI and goldenboy pyrites with it.

After leveling a bit with the pax, I started him towards stealth combat, buying him a Kaspar. I spent several days looking for the augs needed for it, then found a few nice peices of low-vis gear to go with it. Since there is a distinct lack of good low-tech, low-vis shields, I was forced to use a biowall* miniaturized. I also found a very useful mzungu pulse shotgun* buffered, which allowed him to have a greater damage per shot while firing less often that normal. However, this setup had limitations. The three main ones were aiming, recovering and scooping. Since the Kaspar is a disk, and I used an engine without a graphic, I found it extremely hard to tell which direction I was facing in. I used all my hull to fit the gear, so I could not scoop up any drops. I even had to forego several normally used pieces of gear to make it useable. Finally, since the biowall used so much elec, I would be unable to fire if I was damaged at all, with all my elec going to regenerating the shield. I could hold my own in The Planetarium against most other F2P, but against AI it was more difficult.

After using this for a while, I realized that shadow124 would never make it as a Zerker. Since he was higher leveled than Kealan, I chose him to become my seer, buying him billions of credits in ship and gear. I abandoned this alt for a while, in order to work on my other characters. I eventually decided to give him another try. I leveled for a few more levels in my Kaspar, then upgraded to a NCC-bulk and used drones for a few dozen levels.

I got Piloting 12 and Engines 10 as soon as possible, and bougght myself an Earthforce Frigate. I had only heard bad things about Fleet Commanders up to this point, but that was only from the high-leveled ones like Quantum and Retyu complaining. I started to notice a few low-level slavers, and how powerful they were. I then decided that, since I had a few billion credits on my main at the time, I would try to invest in some slaves. I got Remote Control, then bought myself a pair of enforcers. I geared them up with Mythos Webs, BTLs, mzungu bangs and other gear, generally the best I could get with my lousy core skills.

They were worth the investment, and proved to be very powerful. I leveled very quickly, training warp navigation 3 and RC16 (I bought a wingship IV with 2 hermes augs, as everyone should to get through dangerous galaxies), then adding a pair of EarthForce Frigate slaves to my armada. I gave them the same UBER gear as my enforcers had, and began leveling in earnest. I soon got piloting 16 and an Earthforce Cruiser as my main ship. I also upgraded the slave's gear, giving them all lunar blockades, nuclear steam powers and fire beams, and defensive combat controlbots, among other things.

These slaves got me to about level 250, but I began to see some problems. I didn't like having two distinctly different types of slaves, since they acted like such opposites. The frigates had massive range, while the enforcers had to get in close. The enforcers were affected by fleet commander auras, but the frigates, being capital ships, were not. I also did not know as much about augging slaves back then, and all my slaves had some type of Rate of Fire increase, so even with their great energies they could not power their weapons. I decided to retire my diverse fleet in exchange for some more uniform slaves.

I considered buying some more Enforcers, but decided not to since they had such issues with Rate of Fire. Most good augs for that level added it, and they had a few other problems too. I also did not want to buy a 3rd Earthforce Frigate, since I would lose about a quarter of my damage by switching from 4 slaves to 3. So, I decided to make entirely new slaves. After much consideration, I chose the Mini Mad Scientist. Besides the transference resistance, they were the perfect choice. They were Heavy Fighter, so they got a hull bonus as well as being affected by my Fleet Commander auras. They had ample hull, three augs, some decent resists, and a fair speed. I decided to aug them aphrodite+, zombie rat queen, sgt. enforcer. I was able to use four of them at once, and after a week of searching for them and their augs, I had them all ready.

However, there was one problem. I had used blue engines in my Enforcers, which worked decently for them, but my Mini Mad Scientists were just not agile enough with them. I quickly bought a bile displacer blueprint, and built four of those for the slaves. They were then able to kill DGs full of rosemaries and MF basils with ease, and could even take down a Big Green! However, I still only had lunar blockades and fire beams, and although they worked decently, I wanted to be able to do still more.

I trained shielding up to 15, then bought five lil' thangs, one each for my EF cruiser and my four slaves. I then spent some time farming Seraphs in Penance on my Speed Demon for ablution crystals, in order to get equipment 14. I also got some blue vapors, then madly dashed for Absolution to get weaponry up. I bought my slaves and myself each an Open Heart Laser. I then headed up to north warp 3 for the first time to hunt MF slumberchromes and the occasional Big Green.

Once, I accidently went too deep and ran into a pair of forgones. They pushed me and my slaves away from the wormhole so I could not retreat, so I decided to see what would happen. To my amazement, my slaves actually managed to kill one! The other one had pushed one of my slaves away during the fight, however, and managed to kill it. With my remaining three slaves, I killed the second one and healed the dead slave, and quickly retreated back to a lower Danger Factor.

This is my favorite character at the moment, and is probably my strongest for his level. I have fought Drone Masters of the same level in the Colosseum before, and won. I am up to around level 350 now, and plan to keep this character as a Fleet Commander forever.

History of shadow124

shadow124 was going to me my Speed Demon alt. I started him, like all others, in a zebucart in the preload. I got to the nexus, bought a paximinus and gave him gear from Kealan that was good for his level. I leveled in there for a while, then moved on to the real universe. His paximinus had 2 hestia+ augs, so it was a good tank but took forever to heal. I would fight an enemy or two, dock for several minutes and regen, then undock and repeat.

I soon got him an Enforcer, and bought him the best gear I could find. He had a bule insanity and a BTL for weapons, but I usually used the insanity. It was tough to level with him, since his shield recharge time was huge and the insanity drained his shields during every fight, whatever the enemy. After quite a while, I managed to get him piloting 12.

I decided to start with the speed demon style of fighting, so I bought a winship IV and augged it with a zombie rat queen and a std combo. I used an urqa'ka to kill SBB with it. However, it was woefully shielded and had almost no hull, so I quickly retired it and built a zebumaster+. I used 2 std combo, 1 zombie rat queen on it, and it worked much better. However, around this time I turned yugioh2 into a speed demon, so I stopped using this char for a while.

When I started using shadow124 again, I decided to try Berzerker. Instead of getting him some point defences, a fast ship and rad control, I tried using the conventional tanking style. I was only around level 150 or 200, so I could only use two weapons at once. I wasted a day doing the Warden missions, then augged it and purchased gear. Despite all the money I invested in it, he failed miserably. He had a large variety of weapons, yet he could not even consistantly kill a lone SBB, and against swarms he was truely hopeless. Despite my desire to make a zerker at a low level, I gave up on it.

After this, I was looking at making Kealan into a seer. I decided to do it on shadow124 instead, since he was already a decent level for it. I bought him a faranji stinger, which had just been discovered for the first time, and some other UBER gear. I paid 1.6 billion credits for the engine alone, a T15 bana one back when they were the best stealth engine available. I decided on a Qokuji, Blue Gamma, Hephaestius setup, since I was too visable without a second stealth aug. I started catiously, first simply killing blue betas and other similar AI, and learning how to handle it. My setup allows for good single-shot damage, but has an extremely slow Rate of Fire. I can use this to my advantage by still being near my peak damage while having time to become invisable and circle around behind the enemy again. I quickly moved on to better enemies.

I could 3-shot a sawtooth X, assuming I don't miss with the Lance, the inbuilt weapon. It has no tracking, so it is almost impossible to use at long range, or against small targets. Still, it worked wonders against the big guys, like SawX and SBG. I can kill an entire DG full of them without dying, assuming there is no bright sun. The only problem with my setup is the total lack of electric regen. I have a bank-based setup, using a mzungu bolt due to it's large back, 0 vis and +damage bonus. I have to take a break after a few fights to recharge, which can get annoying.

Currently, shadow124 is about level 250, and still a Seer in his F-stinger.
