Testing the Prism Defenses

Greetings Simon.

I am Scientist Prismo. I represent the Paxian race in this system.

I apologize for all of our automated defenses in here.
 Some UrQa specialists have been sneaking in ships disguised as normal ships to try to mine some Solar Prisms right from under our noses,
so we have just started shooting at everybody. Please just do your best to avoid our defenses and automated defender.
 If you shoot back, you will just look like an enemy to us.

As you can see, we are defending this special sun in here which spits out asteroids that contain Solar Prisms.
 These are useful for many things.

We have tried to fortify this system against the UrQa, but I think our defenses are still laking. Will you test them for us?
 See if you can sneak through and mine a Solar Prism from the asteroids coming out of the sun.

* Experience given.

Summary
Dodge the defenses and mine an asteroid in Prism and bring a Solar Prism to Scientist Prismo.

Testing the Prism Defenses

Well good job, Simon. Our defenses here still need some work.
 Later on when you are a higher level, you can help us fortify our drones by bringing us Promethium Crystals.

Prismatic Conversion

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Scientist Prismo
  • Mission: Learning the Prismatic Conversion
Learning the Prismatic Conversion

Greetings Simon.

As you may have guessed, this system is a very interesting system.
 The Solar Prisms that it produced are extremely rare and valuable in contructing advanced technology.

Probably the most important property of Solar Prisms is their ability to resonate with a spaceship.
 This is exploited in the construction of a Prismatic Conversion weapon.

The Prismatic Conversion will insert a crystalline parasite into a target spaceship,
resonating with that ship and potentially taking control of it, turning ito your own combat bot.
 You have to have enough Remote Control skill, and the target ship needs enough space and has to be of a capturable type,
but many ships fit this description.

I do not personally know how to construct a Prismatic Conversion, but I know the theory.
 If you manage to make one, show it to me and I will help you get your first level of Remote Control skill.

* Experience given.
* Reward: Blue Whisper
* Reward: Prismatic Conversion

Summary
Construct and bring a Prismatic Conversion to show to Scientist Prismo in Prism.

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Scientist Prismo
  • Mission: Learning the Prismatic Conversion
Learning the Prismatic Conversion

Very impressive, Simon. Here is a Blue Whisper.
 Take this to a system called Lavanite before the Blue Whisper
decays and you can use it there to get Remote Control skill up through 2.

To use the Prismatic Conversion,
you must find a ship that is susceptible to this technology and get its shields low.
 Then you do the killing blow with a radiation weapon kill of the owner while leavng the ship intact.
 You will see a yellow effect emanate from the ship when it is radiated.
 After that, shoot the ship with your Prismatic Conversion.
 If you have enough Remote Control skill and the ship has space and is of the right type,
it will instantly become your combat bot.

Remember, you can only capture ships of tech level less than or equal to your remote control skill,
and the sum of the tech of all controlled ships can never exceed twice your Remote Control skill.

Happy hunting.

Crystalline Pulsini

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Scientist Prismo
  • Mission: Crystalline Pulsini Creation
Crystalline Pulsini Creation

Greetings Thaj.

As you proved earlier, our defenses here are not all they could be. What I would like to
do it enhance our very masculine drones with some Promethium Crystals so that they wll
resonate with the sun and draw extra power.

If you bring me some Promethium Crystals, I will use half and use the other half to upgrade
your energy to something pretty good for a Light Fighter.

Because my upgrades use the crystals, they are attuned to your particular neural pathways and
can not be used by anyone else.

Do this for me, and I will give you some other upgrade options.

* Experience given.
* Reward: Crystalline Pulsini

Summary
Bring 10 Promethium Crystals, 10 Solar Prisms, an Obsidian Ionizer, and a Yallow to Scientist
Prismo in Prism to get a neurobound Crystalline Pulsini.

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Scientist Prismo
  • Mission: Crystalline Pulsini Creation
Crystalline Pulsini Creation

Thank you, Thaj. I will now construct the shield for you before going to upgrade the drones here.

The combination of the Promethium Crystals and Solar Prisms allow this item to harmonize with your neural energy.
 This allows it to be stronger than otherwise,
but the drawback is that once it has harmonized with your neural energy
is becomes unusable by anyone else besides you or your bots.

Crystalline Pulsations

Crystalline Pulsations Creation

Greetings Meruva.

Our drones are getting stronger, but still are not all they could be. I need some more Promethium Crystals.

Bring me some more and I will make another custom upgrade for you. Remember, I will harmonize the crystals in your new item with your own particular neural pathways, so no one else besides you will be able to use it.

  • Experience given.
  • Reward: Crystalline Pulsations

Summary Bring 10 Promethium Crystals, 10 Solar Prisms, an Oversized Obsidian Ionizer, and an Oversized Yallow to Scientist Prismo in Prism to get a neurobound Crystalline Pulsations.

Summary Bring 20 Promethium Crystals, 20 Solar Prisms, a Misdirecton, and a Give and Take to Scientist Prismo in Prism to get a neurobound Crystalline Shield. -

Crystalline Reserve Research

Research

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Scientist Prismo
  • Mission: Crystalline Reserve Research
Crystalline Reserve Research

"Well, well, Simon. It appears that there was some kind of crystal matrix being found in the universe
that we hadn't heard of before. This obviously concerns the Pax,
as we consider ourselves the masters of such things.

From reports that we have had these crystal matrices were originally so good to be almost untrue!
However, we suspect that they were a cunning plan by the UrQa and were actually degrading
into something far worse. The UrQa often do this, to spread strife and war within
a universe that they're seeking to conquer. Who can forget in universe SCII,
when the UrQa gave the Spati what they thought was the "Ultimate weapon"?!?

Many Spati were lost that day, I can tell you.

I can imagine that anyone who found one of these energies might be seeing a
drastic reduction in their effectiveness over time. They might even be ranting and raving by now!

I need you to find me one of these matrices and I'll need to construct a grid of non-reactive elements
to measure the refractive index as opposed to other, more common, crystals naturally occuring in the
universe. I'll bounce energetic particles off each type of crystal and the matrix and compare the results:
don't worry, you'll get the matrix back at the end. Hmm. Diamonds are a carbon crystalline structure...
we'll have to get some of those as well. A good point to make is that even after research,
I think only Capital ships or those using multiple weapons will benefit from this particular type of matrix.

Please get me..."

He (?) hands you a list. Well, its not all that long. You've seen longer. Yup. Definately been longer lists.
You have a sneaking feeling that Prismo might be a *female* Paxian...

* Experience given.
* Reward: Crystalline Reserve

Requires:

  • 5 Solar Prisms
  • 5 Promethium Crystals
  • 5 Plasma Crystals
  • 5 Ablution Crystals
  • 5 Diamond
  • 5 Rubicite
  • 15 Platinum
  • 25 Titanium
  • 1 Crystalline Reserve

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Scientist Prismo
  • Mission: Crystalline Reserve Research
Crystalline Reserve Research

"Zounds! Simon, it appears that the UrQa used dangerously unstable elements to create this matrix.
Once its energies are spent, it is much less use than it should be.
However, we might be able to change that!"

Capital Crystalline Reserve

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Scientist Prismo
  • Mission: Capital Ship Crystalline Research
Capital Ship Crystalline Research

"As we have seen, Simon, the UrQa were indeed involved with manufacturing the matrix,
and now it is but a former shadow of what it once was.
Such is the way with gifts from UrQa.

However, I think we can modify it to be useful again.
One of the two ways to modify it would be to place the matrix in a diamond
lattice and use it as a catalyst for a much larger reaction,
which we'd have to power with some pretty exotic materials.
This would be ironically somewhat smaller than the current matrix,
but would require a Capital ship class hull to take the subspace distortion
and gravity fields the matrix would produce.
Any other ship would be simply shaken to pieces!"

S/he (?? who knows with the Paxians) smiles at you.

"One upside to this would be that the fields created would actually reduce
the hull's mass in space, and allow greater turning.
Of course, we'd have to build the casing and canabalise an existing Matrix,
but that shouldn't be an issue."

You turn to leave, only to hear a small "Ahem".

"You forgot your shopping list, Simon.
Oh, and I'm afraid that due to the field structure, once I've made this matrix,
it will be bound to your unique space/time quantum signature,
so if you don't intend to use this on a Capital Class hull, I'd stop now."

Oh.. great.

* Experience given.
* Reward: Capital Crystalline Reserve

Summary
Bring Scientist Prismo 50 diamond, 25 titanium sheets, 25 quantumum and of course,
a Crystalline Reserve. Sheesh, this Paxian loves diamonds.

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Scientist Prismo
  • Mission: Capital Ship Crystalline Research
Capital Ship Crystalline Research

"Well, Simon, that was quite a build. Here is your new matrix.
I've made it to the best of our abilities - it may not match the UrQa original,
but it will prove to be more than a little useful."

Berserker Crystalline Reserve

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Scientist Prismo
  • Mission: Berserker Specialisation Crystalline Research
Berserker Specialisation Crystalline Research

"As we have seen, Simon, the UrQa were indeed involved with manufacturing the matrix,
and now it is but a former shadow of what it once was.
Such is the way with gifts from UrQa.

However, I think we can modify it to be useful again.
One of the two ways to modify it would be to place a custom made distributor
to split the crystals' resonance pulse into six manifolds which would
allow each weapon to access the energy in parallel,
meaning each would get access to the energy at the same time.
This would allow much greater efficiency on energy usage."

S/he (?? who knows with the Paxians) frowns at you.

"Of course, we'd have to build the distributor and canabalise an existing Matrix,
but that shouldn't be an issue.
The distributor needs to be made from the toughest material in the universe however,
and precision timed, which needs the half life decay of a frozen blob."

You turn to leave, only to hear a small "Ahem".

"You forgot your shopping list, Simon. Oh, and I'm afraid that due to the field structure,
once I've made this matrix, it will be bound to your unique space/time quantum signature,
so if you don't intend to use this to fire multiple weapons as a
Combat - Berserker, I'd stop now."

Oh.. great.

* Experience given.
* Reward: Myriad Crystalline Reserve

Summary
Bring Scientist Prismo 5 adamantium, 1 frozen blob, 25 quantumum and of course,
a crystalline reserve.

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Scientist Prismo
  • Mission: Berserker Specialisation Crystalline Research
Berserker Specialisation Crystalline Research

"Well, Simon, that was quite a build. Here is your new matrix.
I've made it to the best of our abilities - it may not match the UrQa original,
but it will prove to be more than a little useful."

Alfred

Location: Refraction Station, Prism

  • Agent: Alfred
  • Mission: A very special fighter
A very special fighter

You are approached by a young paxian. "Excuse me", he asks, "do you think you could help me?"

You agree and the paxian smiles brightly: "Oh thank you so much.
You see, I've been tasked by Prismo to design a new generation of fighters and I took up the challenge,
if only to prove my worth. I designed the hull, picked the engine and installed the energy generator,
but there are just so many possibilities for the weapon!
Prismo is a very demanding lady with great commintent to her craft, and just any common peashooter won't do.
It must be something special!"

* Reward: Paxian Pacifier Blueprint

Summary
Find a weapon that's worthy of the fighter Alfred's designing.

NOTE: Requires a Love Cylinder weapon
