Furtherance

Furtherance is the ability of some 4-D lasers to "cut" through targets. Any ship or enemy drone caught in the beam of this laser will take damage from it. In this manner, you can shoot any number of enemies at one time, or shoot targets without first targeting them. Great care must be taken when using these weapons because they can hurt friendly ships. It does however check for PvP restrictions, so only players within your PvP range can be hit, whether you target them or not. Currently the only weapon that has this feature is the Jelly Laser Beam. See the picture on the right, in which 1 laser hits 3 ships at once, 2 of which are not targeted. This ability, while only on a relatively weak weapon, has the potential to make it into one of the most effecient weapons in the game.

Note: Furtherance has been REMOVED from the Jelly Laser in May 2009.
